The first company of the DMS Group, Data Management Systems Ltd., was started back in November of 1977. From then on, a series of companies were formed to cater to the ever changing market demands and resulted in DMS companies leading the way in the following areas;

Information Technology
Office Automation
Health Care
Garment Technology

Key personnel, who had 10 - 15 years of experience in the above areas, were recruited to head these companies and agency rights/technology transfer agreements were signed with leading international companies specialising in those areas.

The following is a description of the group’s organisation chart & the products/distributorships held by companies within the DMS group.

Data Management Systems Ltd. was incorporated in 1977. The company pioneered the sale of turnkey solutions in Sri Lanka in the late 70's and early 80's by the sale of Wang VS mini computers and related application software.

DMS Electronics Ltd. was incorporated in 1981. The company pioneered the introduction of micro computers into Sri Lanka with the sales & service of commodore vic20s to schools/universities and commodore pcs to small businesses.

DMS E has the following distributor/re-seller rights/product lines;

DMS Software Center was formed in 1983 and was later incorporated as DMS Software Engineering (Pvt.) Ltd. The company pioneered the development of application software packages for the tea, accounting & banking industries.

DMS SWE has the following distributor/re-seller rights/product lines;

DMS Software Technologies (Pvt.) Ltd. was incorporated in April 1995 by merging DMS Training Centre, which was formed in 1988, and DMS Software Technologies (the oracle sales operation), which was formed in 1990.

DMS SWT has the following distributor/re-seller rights/product lines;

DMS Office Products Ltd. was incorporated In 1982 and has the following distributor/re-seller rights/product lines;

DMS Garment Technologies (Pvt.) Ltd. was formed in 1994 to cater to the market demands for garment technology equipment in the fast growing apparel industry in Sri Lanka.

DMS GT has the following distributor/re-seller rights/ product lines;

DMS Medical Laboratories (Pvt.) Ltd. was set-up in 1988 with the acquisition of one of the oldest private medical laboratories in colombo, to cater to the rapidly growing health care market in sri lanka.

DMS ML has the following service lines;
